Pricing API in sandbox always returns tier 3 rates

Hello,

In the sandbox environment, the Pricing API consistently returns rates corresponding to tier 3, even when the test addresses are located on the same street, just a few meters apart.

Is this the expected behavior in sandbox, or is there a way to simulate pricing more accurately based on actual distance?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hello,

Thank you for your question.

Delivery pricing is determined by multiple factors, including delivery distance, zone, package size, and more. The /pricing endpoint is designed to provide an estimated delivery fee and reflects this logic accurately.

Please note that pricing is calculated the same way in both the Sandbox and Production environments, unless a fixed cost or a specific commercial agreement is applied exclusively to your Production account.

In plug-and-play integrations (i.e., those without a tailored commercial agreement), the /pricing endpoint remains the most reliable source for estimating delivery fees.

If you believe you may have a commercial agreement in place that affects your pricing model, we recommend contacting our team to review the details. You can contact us via Talk to Our Team at the bottom of the page.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Hello Tasnim,

Thank you for your reply.

We have no commercial agreement affecting pricing.

However, we consistently get the same price from the /pricing API regardless of the delivery distance, even when addresses are only a few meters apart.

Since you indicated that the pricing logic is the same in sandbox and production, this behavior seems abnormal.

Could you please investigate if there is an issue with the sandbox environment or advise on how to get more realistic pricing variations based on distance?

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Hello,

Thanks a lot for your patience, and sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

To answer your question, our pricing is not static and can vary depending on several factors, including the pickup and drop-off addresses, the distance between them, and the selected package size.

For example, here are some tests I performed via our /pricing endpoint:

  • PU: 1 Rue de Lota, 75016 Paris
DO: 10 Rue La Boétie, 75008 Paris
    • XSmall / Small / Medium: 12.5€ HT
    • Large / XLarge: 22.9€ HT
  • PU: 1 Rue de Lota, 75016 Paris
DO: 10 Rue de Lota, 75016 Paris
    • XSmall / Small / Medium: 7.5€ HT
    • Large / XLarge: 11.5€ HT

We adjust our rates to reflect distance, operational costs, and service zones to remain fair and competitive.

Please let us know if you have any more questions. We’re happy to help!

Best regards,
Tasnim
